Maja Fluch

I am a molecular ecologist, interested in the interaction between insects and their associated microorganisms. During my Postdoc, funded by the Walter-Benjamin program, I am investigating the impact of different environmental factors on social strategies for microbial control used by the burying beetle Nicrophorus vespilloides. By combining behavioral and chemical methods with molecular biology, genomics, and bioinformatics, this will allow me to anticipate consequences of climate change on the fitness of the beetles.
